BTA advises Stockport Council on HLF application at Bramall Hall and Park
Boyd-Thorpe Associates were engaged by Stockport Council to provide advice on the redevelopment of the cafe in Bramall Park as part of their Heritage Lottery application for Bramall Hall and Park. The magnificent Bramall Hall is a black and white timber-framed Tudor manor house, with Victorian additions, spanning six centuries and set in 70 acres of parkland. As part of the HLF bid the Council wish to enhance the old stable block providing a much improved cafe, new toilets and a small retail facility.
In a very quick turnaround project we carried out an assessment of the competitor market, studied the demographic profile of the visitor base and evaluated the local demand before recommending the attributes of the catering offer which we felt would be most suited to the location. Advice was provided on the design of the cafe facilities and on how best to attract a catering partner to operate the facility once completed. Finally a business plan was put together projecting the cafe revenue and estimating the financial return to the Council. The work carried out by BTA will inform the HLF Stage 2 application for the project.
